The new poll

Like the last poll we would greatly appreciate it if you would leave a comment with your name and vote. Thank you very much. This goes for all polls.

  1. Where's LeGarrette "Blount force trauma to the head"?

  2. Jacquizz Rodgers never fumbles, so I must vote for him. James, Best, Gerhart, and Polk are very good also.

  3. Seeing how Best is the highest rated pro prospect and showed how good he was last year I vote for him. Besides I win either way since the poll is essentially named after him...

  4. I will have to go with the quizz show at running back. He almost has 1,000 yards rushing and has 14 tds. In addition, he has 371 receiving yards with another touchdown. Add this up and the Sophomore has almost 1,300 all purpose yards with 15 tds. Of course he still has four games so his end of season total will be interesting. Of course last year he ended with around 1,500 all purpose yards.
Sorry about the book but I had to present backing for my selection.

  5. For all the hype coming into the year, Best has not lived up to it. Maybe it isn't his fault, but I don't follow Cal enough to know.

Rogers is obviously a great back. Very elusive and a hard runner.

But the back who has performed the best this year is LaMichael James. He runs behind a very young O-line and has to create a lot on his own. He has incredible patience and vision, and much like Rogers, is extremely difficult to tackle.

    Go Ducks!

  7. Best has over 1000 all-purpose yards, is averaging 6.3 yards a carry and has accounted for 15 TD's. Quizz has slightly more yards, the same amount of TD's, but is only averaging 5.4 yards a carry. LaMichael James is under 1000 all purpose yards, averages 7.0 yards a carry buy only has 7 TDs. So I guess the question is if the poll is about the best back, the one that means the most to his team, or the one whose team is most successful?

  8. I dont care about the stats LJ is by far the best because . . . he is a DUCK! This just makes you superior to anyone. LJ is my vote.

  9. Yo bros,
That's a tough pole, not half as bad as the last one. (sorry bout not saying anything but I voted for cherry) It's hard to argue with 'Quizz's stats but he has more carries then Lamichael because the Beavs passing game stinks but you cant deny the no fumbles lost in his career stat. Lamichael runs less, cuz the Ducks have a better passing game. He's also a freshman, and has a better carry average. So based on his stats as a freshman and his young O-line, I'd say Lamichael James is the best HB in the Pac-10. I dont consider Best as good cuz he has a better O-line and more expirience, and if you watch some filmage, he's like Reggie Bush when he played for USC. Lot's of side to side running. So based on that and lots of brain power, I dont think that Best is the best and wont be a very good NFL back.

  10. I don't believe that the Beavers offensive line is all that experienced either. The beavers have the most consistent QB in the Pac 10 but that does not necessarily help the run game if he is not capable of throwing the long ball well. You are right that James has less carries than quizz but the carries that James gets are designed for him to be in the open. If you look at quizz he is a better back because he can run between the tackles. He showed this quite well last year when he played against USC and their three NFL linebackers. He has great strength. He is hard to tackle. And even though he is small 5'7 191 he has a larger chance at making the NFL than James 5'9 180. You also have to look at the fact that Masoli can run or throw. I know that when Oregon played Washington (uggggggggggg) many times the players did not know who had the ball. With all due respect to LaMiachel James, Rodgers is the better back because he is on a less talented team but performs better.

  11. Funny how the Mods thought that the first post supporting a Duck player was the first complete and sensible one. Interesting. My nephews are absolute homers, I tell ya! Stinkin Ducks... makes you feel like a duck flew over and splatted the sun roof...

  12. LJ's stats for a Freshman are pretty good. You can't deny that. However it seems that the ducks offense may help him out a little. The duck offense thrives on disguising who has the ball. Also Massoli will and can run. This means the defense can't completely focus on the running back.

  13. Sorry I missed it. lol
Quizz actually has another td. He completed a fourteen-yard touchdown pass. I guess you can add QB to his list of accomplishments, lolol

  14. I tried to post a comment earlier in favor of Quizz. I think the totally biased guys running this blog deleted it. Love and respect to LJ, but to call him the BEST already is way premature.

Thought it was awesome that the play by play guy on the radio here keeps messing up and calling him "LaMichael Jackson".

  15. HaHa "LaMichael Jackson" that is pretty funny. Have to agree on the biased blog too. I seem to think that if LJ had won the poll there would be at least a little post depicting his accomplishment.

  16. Ya well im not into football but Jaquizz Rodgers is probably the best. He has over 920 yds this season which is extremely impressive regardless of team bias. Also he has a GPA of 3.4 which, while nothing to write home about, is still far better than many of the other goobers in the running on this poll. Im sorry andrew and anthony but Lamichael James has a pitiful GPA of 3.1 and he has 840 yds which while nothing to sneeze at is still 82 yards less than Rodgers. However, Lamichael is a great player and is the player of the week this week in the pac-10.

  17. Dear Jared S.,
I understand that you may feel that the blog is a little biasd. But tell me that if Rodgers played on the Ducks and James played on the beavers you would not vote for James. Thought you would.

I have to give my cousins support. If I were running this blog I would probably a little everything against Oregon. But I think they we could all agree that you have the worst announcers between Oregon State, Oregon, and Washington. I think that I would agree with this fact even if I was a Duck fun.
