A Friendly Reminder

We would like to take this opportunity to remind all of you to please leave a comment with your name, vote and reasons(optional). Your cooperation is greatly appreciated. The new poll is something that should prove interesting, and ,Loren Joseph, you had better not vote for Kobe or Magic Johnson. We will probably post something concercing our opinions later.

    I thought I would copy this incomplete list of reasons why Michael Jordan is the best basketball player of all time:

    2 Olympic Gold Medals – 1984, 1992
    (both before and after they allowed professionals in the Olympics)
    6-time NBA Champion
    (after leading the transformation of an AWFUL Chicago team)
    6-time NBA Finals MVP
    (Finals in which he was matched up against Magic Johnson, Clyde Drexler, Charles Barkley and Karl Malone.)
    5-time NBA MVP
    (And he should have been even more years than that.)
    10 NBA Scoring Titles
    (Out of 13 1/2 seasons.)
    14 NBA All-Star Selections
    (Including one where his teammates wouldn't pass him the ball due to jealousy.)
    2-time NBA Slam Dunk Contest Champion – 1987, 1988
    (One of which resulted in one of the most famous photographs in the history of sports.)
    NBA Rookie of the Year – 1984
    (They were going to give it to him again the next year, but then they figured out he was no longer a rookie.)
    NBA Defensive Player of the Year – 1988
    (Winning while a guy named Dennis Rodman was a crazy animal on defense.)

    Do I need to go on? The only one that comes even close is Wilt Chamberlain. The two reasons I wouldn't give it to Wilt are #1 because Chamberlain only won 2 championships and #2 because Jordan made players around better. Just look at Scottie Pippen. Look at John Paxson, B.J. Armstrong. He led a team to a 72 win season, for goodness sake!

    Plus, he was hugely instrumental in building the Nike brand into what it is today.

    Actually, Michael Jordan is probably the best athlete of all time.
